Gravity, levity, and balance in between

Levity... we concern ourselves a lot with gravity, but what about levity? When I think of levity, I remember a yoga class years ago. A teacher suggested that we imagine we were suspended gently from the sky by long, thin threads that started at our collarbones and stretched gracefully upwards towards the heavens. Just by imagining it, you can feel a gentle and effortless levity in your body, a subtle lift starting at your collarbones. Feel your shoulders relax down your back. You may even feel it relieve pressure in your lower back. You can visualize this anytime throughout your day standing, sitting, lying down, and moving around. Just remember to stay grounded. Roots down. Gravity, levity, and balance in between.
